Shums AbdusSamad

Class of 2010

Shums is a graduate student at Arizona State University.  Prior to that, she taught math and science to junior high school students.  She worked on 2008 Democratic Presidential Campaign.  She was a serving board member of Muslim Student Associations.  In addition, she was a member of Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE), National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE), Society of Women Engineers (SWE) and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE).  She volunteered at Martin Luther King Day Services at ASU and Paz De Cristo Community Center.  She continues to volunteer in many other activities in the community.
Shums holds a B.S.E. in Electrical Engineering from Arizona State University.  Currently she is working on her Masters degree in Materials Science and Engineering at Arizona State University.  She enjoys reading in her free time.  Shums currently lives in Laveen, AZ.
