Karyn Lathan

Class of 2013

Karyn Lathan has spent over 25 years in law enforcement and corrections as a Police Officer, Correctional Officer, Probation and Parole Officer and ending her career in law enforcement as the Restorative Justice Coordinator for Arizona Department of Corrections. She is an Air Force veteran where she served inSouth Koreaas well as stateside. She currently is involved with several victim services organizations. Karyn is a Commissioner with the Chandler Domestic Violence Commission, a consultant for Coalition to EndArizona’s Sexual Exploitation (CEASE), and is a member of the Arizona Coalition of Victim Services. Karyn is a partner with Advocacy Consulting Group, a consulting firm working in the victim services field.
Karyn ran for state representative in 2012 in a district that was deemed to be too red.  She closed the gap and the district is now considered a competitive district.  She is running again in 2014.
Karyn is currently finishing her degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Public Administration at the University of Phoenix.
