Emily Barney

Class of 2015

My name is Emily Barney, and I am currently a junior at Arizona State University and Barrett, the Honors College pursuing a major in Public Service and Public Policy, with a Minor in Political Science, along with a concentration in Criminology. I am also pursuing a certificate in Women and Gender Studies and Leadership and Ethics. I am originally from Cleveland, Ohio, but I moved to Anthem, Arizona after I graduated from high school with my diploma and my concurrent Associates of Arts degree from my local community college.
Currently, I work in the Dean's Office of the College of Public Programs at ASU as a Student Ambassador for Recruitment, and I am also the Chair in Residential Review Board, which is a group of students that work as a peer review system for individuals who have violated University policy within the residential community. I also teach freshmen as a Peer Instructor in a class called ASU 101, which focuses on first-year transitional issues and personal and professional development. In addition to my work at ASU, I interned in Congresswoman Kyrsten Sinema's District Office in Summer 2014 as I am exceedingly passionate about public service and political science.
